Our Practice
Led by Imu Chan, we are a team of architects and artists based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Our practice traverses fluidly between the two disciplines, treating space as a sculpting medium and art as an instrument of place-making. Projects range from personal sanctuaries and gathering places, to public art design and consultation. Each project is unique.
Aside from our creative work, we are also called upon as a public art consultant, advising private developers, governments, community organizations and artists on art-architecture integration, drawing from our diverse experience and technical knowledge.
Our Design
We believe design possesses a poetic logic that communicates in subjective, emotional terms. It opens doors for us to reach our inner selves, to see the true light of our existence. Creating design that speaks directly to the soul, and reveals larger universal truths in our collective existence, has been the guiding principle of our practice.
The process of making is crucial to our design, serving as a means to discover new forms and in the development of ideas. Traditional tactile mediums and advanced digital tools go hand in hand to give our work a human touch while staying true to our time.
